Recreational boating forecasts for Lake of the Woods Lake Nipigon
North Channel Lake Nipissing and Lake Simcoe issued by Environment
Canada at 5:00 a.m. EDT Tuesday 22 October 2024 for today tonight and
Wednesday.
The next scheduled forecast will be issued at 11:30 a.m. EDT.

Fog implies visibility less than 1 mile.

Winds are for mid lake. Nearshore winds may vary considerably due to
shoreline effects.

Note..The recreational boating forecast program is active from May 01
 to November 30.

Lake of the Woods.
Strong wind warning in effect.
Wind southwest 10 knots increasing to northwest 15 near noon and to
 northwest 20 this afternoon. Wind diminishing to northwest 15 late
 overnight and to southwest 10 Wednesday morning. Wind increasing to
 southwest 15 Wednesday afternoon. Showers ending near midnight. Risk
 of thunderstorms this morning.

Lake Nipigon.
Strong wind warning in effect.
Wind south 15 knots increasing to south 20 this morning and to
 northwest 25 this evening. Wind diminishing to northwest 15 near
 noon Wednesday then backing to southwest 15 Wednesday evening.
 Scattered showers ending overnight. Risk of thunderstorms today.

North Channel.
Strong wind warning in effect.
Wind light becoming south 10 knots this morning then increasing to
 south 15 this afternoon. Wind veering to southwest 15 near midnight
 then increasing to west 25 Wednesday morning. Wind veering to
 northwest 20 Wednesday afternoon then diminishing to northwest 15
 Wednesday evening. Scattered showers overnight and Wednesday
 morning.

Lake Nipissing.
Wind light becoming south 10 knots near noon then increasing to
 southwest 15 late overnight. Wind veering to northwest 15 near noon
 Wednesday. Showers Wednesday. Fog patches dissipating this morning.

Lake Simcoe.
Strong wind warning in effect.
Wind south 10 knots increasing to southwest 15 near midnight and to
 northwest 20 near noon Wednesday. Wind diminishing to northwest 15
 Wednesday evening. Scattered showers Wednesday.
