Blizzard conditions with gusty winds and visibility frequently near zero in snow and blowing snow are expected or occurring. Locations: Nain and vicinity. Total snowfall: 5 to 10 cm except 10 to 20 cm in the Natuashish area. Maximum wind gusts: northwesterly 90 to 110 km/h. Time span: near midnight tonight until Wednesday afternoon. Similar storms in the past have caused: - hazardous driving conditions - school closures and cancellations of scheduled activities - utility outages - disruptions and delays transportation networks Remarks: Conditions will deteriorate quickly as accumulating snow occurs in conjunction with strengthening winds. Travel is expected to be extremely hazardous due to reduced visibility. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Blizzard warnings are issued when widespread reduced visibilities of 400 metres or less are expected for at least 4 hours.
