Ice build-up due to freezing rain continues. What: A band of freezing rain, heavy at times, with amounts possibly exceeding 5 mm. Freezing rain mixed with ice pellets at times. When: Continuing this morning and changing over to snow later today. Where: Parts of central and northern Manitoba. Remarks: A major spring storm will give rain, freezing rain and heavy snow to central Manitoba. Travel will likely be hazardous and some routes will likely be impassable. Prolonged utility outages are likely. Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
