A long period of snowfall with significant accumulations continues. Total snowfall amounts up to 35 cm are possible for parts of eastern Alberta by Sunday morning. Other areas will likely see snowfall totals of 15 to 25 cm. Heavy snow will taper off for most areas by this evening. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. If you must travel, keep others informed of your schedule and destination and carry an emergency kit and mobile phone. For information on emergency plans and kits go to getprepared.gc.ca.
