  • North Coast - coastal sections

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring. What: southeast winds 90 km/h gusting to 110-120 km/h. When: Overnight tonight until Sunday afternoon. Where: Haida Gwaii, exposed coastal areas of North Coast, Central Coast, and North Vancouver Island. Additional information: Another strong storm system is approaching from the Pacific Ocean tonight. Strong and gusty southeast winds will rise overnight and persist through Sunday. Winds will ease Sunday afternoon for North Vancouver Island and ease Sunday evening for Haida Gwaii, North Coast coastal sections and Central Coast. Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Motorists, especially in high profile vehicles, may expect hazardous driving conditions on highways subject to strong cross winds.
