Strong and gusty southeast winds will rise this morning and persist today. Winds will ease this afternoon for North Vancouver Island and ease this evening for Haida Gwaii, North Coast coastal sections and Central Coast. Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. Motorists, especially in high profile vehicles, may expect hazardous driving conditions on highways subject to strong cross winds.
