SNOWFALL WARNING

Snowfall Warning in effect for:
  • Westgate Red Deer Lake and Barrows

Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected. A developing low pressure system over Montana is poised to track eastward, spreading an area of snow across southern Manitoba this weekend. Snow will begin in western Manitoba overnight and will head into eastern sections of the province Sunday. For most areas, accumulating snow will taper off Sunday night. Light snow will continue over eastern regions into Monday. This snowfall warning may be expanded eastward through the Interlake region as the event nears. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow. Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to MBstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #MBStorm.
