Snowfall Warning in effect for:

Heavy snow with total snowfall amounts of 15 to 30 cm expected by Thursday afternoon over SW Alberta. Periods of light snow will transition to heavy snow tonight, beginning in areas near Nordegg and eventually affecting communities west and SW of the City of Calgary later this evening into the overnight period. The heaviest snow will fall over the foothills. The city of Calgary will see wet snow, with additional totals near 5 cm. Snowfall will end Thursday morning along the foothills west of Calgary, and by Thursday evening near the Canada-U.S. border, including for Pincher Creek and Waterton. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow.
