YELLOW WATCH - SEVERE THUNDERSTORM

Impact Level: Moderate

Forecast Confidence: High

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. A trough of low pressure tracking across southwestern Saskatchewan is expected to initiate thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening. Some of these thunderstorms may become severe. As thunderstorms develop and track eastward, the watch may be expanded this evening. When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to SKstorm@ec.gc.ca, call 1-800-239-0484 or post reports on social media using #SKStorm.
