SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT

Conditions will be favourable for the development of funnel clouds today. Locations: South-central Saskatchewan. Time span: Near noon until this evening. Remarks: An unstable air mass may lead to the development of isolated cold core funnel clouds. While funnel clouds are typically short-lived and often remain aloft without touching down, they can occasionally briefly reach the ground as weak tornadoes. Associated wind gusts are generally brief and localized but have been known to cause minor damage to loose objects and vegetation. Treat any funnel cloud sightings seriously; take shelter should one approach your area. Funnel clouds usually appear with little or no warning and can develop rapidly under suitable atmospheric conditions. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to SKstorm@ec.gc.ca, call 1-800-239-0484 or post reports on X using #SKStorm.
