Special Weather Statement in effect for:
  • North Thompson

Above seasonal temperatures expected today, tonight, and Wednesday. Where: North Thompson When: Today, tonight, and Wednesday. Remarks: A ridge of high pressure over the region will usher in unseasonably warm air from the south. As a result, daytime high temperatures in the high 20s, and overnight lows in the low teens are expected today. The warm air will linger on Wednesday, causing daytime high temperatures to rise further into the low to mid 30s. Cooler air will arrive on Thursday resulting in temperatures lowering to near seasonal values. Monitor local public forecasts and weather alerts for updates. Access Environment and Climate Change Canada weather forecasts via the weathercan app or www.weather.gc.ca. Watch for the effects of Heat illness: Heavy sweating, rash, cramps, fainting. High body temperatures, and the worsening of some health conditions. Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle. Seek a cool place such as a tree-shaded area, swimming pool, shower or bath, or air-conditioned spot like a public building.
