SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT

Special Weather Statement in effect for:
  • City of Winnipeg

A short, intense band of snow tracked through Winnipeg and regions about the city earlier this evening. Accumulations varied, with a centimetre or two reported near the south perimeter, while nearly 10 cm fell over northeastern sections of the city. 5 cm was reported at James Richardson International airport. Of note, a snowfall warning remains in effect for regions just north and east of Winnipeg tonight. Residual periods of light snow will continue Thursday night. Additional light snow is expected to fall on Friday but accumulations should not exceed warning thresholds by Friday evening.
