Snowfall Warning in effect for:
  • Highway 3 - Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass

Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm is expected. Where: Similkameen, Highway 3 - Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass, and Manning - Skagit Valley. When: Now through Wednesday morning What: Total snow accumulation of 10 to 15 cm, locally up to 20 cm near Allison Pass. Remark: A moisture-laden Pacific frontal system will bring snow to parts of the southern BC interior. The snow will continue through the overnight hours tonight into Wednesday morning, with a risk of freezing rain mixing with the snow early Wednesday morning. The snow is expected to ease late Wednesday morning. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Winter Storm Warning in effect for:
  • Coquihalla Highway - Hope to Merritt

Where: Coquihalla Highway - Hope to Merritt. When: Now through Wednesday morning. What: Total snow accumulation up to 30 cm Hazards: - Significant snow accumulation will make roads and highways difficult to navigate. - Near-zero visibility in heavy snowfall and gusty winds. - Potential for transportation delays. Remarks: A moisture-laden Pacific frontal system will bring heavy snow to parts of the southern BC interior. Snow, heavy at times will continue to late Wednesday morning. Gradual easing of snowfall intensity is expected as the system moves out on Wednesday afternoon. Along with the snow, there is a risk of freezing rain overnight and blowing snow, with gusty winds reaching up to 60 km/h expected today through tomorrow. Where: Okanagan Connector - Merritt to Kelowna. When: Now to Wednesday morning. What: Total snow accumulation of 15 to 20 cm Hazards: - Near-zero visibility in blowing snow in wind-prone areas. Remarks: A moisture-laden Pacific frontal system will bring snow to parts of the southern BC interior. The snow will continue through tonight and ease on Wednesday morning as the system departs. Along with the snow, there is a risk of blowing snow, with gusty winds reaching up to 50 km/h expected tonight. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Where: Trans-Canada Highway - Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass, North Columbia, Kinbasket, West Columbia, Kootenay Lake, West Kootenay. When: This evening to Wednesday early afternoon. What: Total snow accumulation of 15 to 20 cm, locally up to 30 cm possible over higher elevation. Remarks: A moisture-laden Pacific frontal system will bring snow to parts of the southern BC interior. The snow will begin this evening, intensify through the overnight hours into tomorrow morning, and ease in the afternoon as the system departs. Snow level is expected to rise through Wednesday morning, therefore some of the higher elevation communities will get locally higher snowfall accumulations. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
