The heaviest snowfall is expected this afternoon and tonight for the area. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. - Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass
Where: Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass. When: Today into Sunday. Remarks: Another fall storm is expected to impact southern BC beginning today. The system is forecast to remain offshore over the next few days, with associated bands of precipitation pushing into the region from the south, bringing 30 to 40 cm of snow into the region. The heaviest snowfall, which is expected to meet warning criteria, is expected today; snowfall is likely to continue until early Sunday afternoon when it will taper to a few flurries. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
