Rain, at times heavy, is expected. Where: Fraser Valley - East Including Hope. When: This afternoon into Wednesday morning. Remarks: A moisture-laden Pacific frontal system is pushing into the Lower Mainland today. The precipitation will start as snow or mixed rain and snow beginning this afternoon. The precipitation will intensify this evening before changing to rain at times heavy for the overnight period. The heavy rain will taper to a few showers Wednesday morning. 2 to 4 cm of snow can be expected and 40 to 50mm of rain. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. SNOWFALL WARNING

Snowfall Warning in effect for:
  • Highway 3 - Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass

Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm is expected. Where: Similkameen, Highway 3 - Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass, and Manning - Skagit Valley. When: Now through Wednesday morning What: Total snow accumulation of 10 to 15 cm, locally up to 20 cm near Allison Pass. Remark: A moisture-laden Pacific frontal system will bring snow to parts of the southern BC interior. The snow will continue through the overnight hours tonight into Wednesday morning, with a risk of freezing rain mixing with the snow early Wednesday morning. The snow is expected to ease late Wednesday morning. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.   • Coquihalla Highway - Hope to Merritt

Where: Coquihalla Highway - Hope to Merritt. When: Now through Wednesday morning. What: Total snow accumulation up to 30 cm Hazards: - Significant snow accumulation will make roads and highways difficult to navigate. - Near-zero visibility in heavy snowfall and gusty winds. - Potential for transportation delays. Remarks: A moisture-laden Pacific frontal system will bring heavy snow to parts of the southern BC interior. Snow, heavy at times will continue to late Wednesday morning. Gradual easing of snowfall intensity is expected as the system moves out on Wednesday afternoon. Along with the snow, there is a risk of freezing rain overnight and blowing snow, with gusty winds reaching up to 60 km/h expected today through tomorrow. Remarks: A moisture-laden Pacific frontal system will bring snow to parts of the southern BC interior. The snow will continue through tonight and ease on Wednesday morning as the system departs. Along with the snow, there is a risk of blowing snow, with gusty winds reaching up to 50 km/h expected tonight. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
