Snowfall Warning in effect for:

Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected. Where: Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass. When: Tonight and into Thursday morning. Remarks: Moisture is being pumped up into the region from the south and is running into cold air being pushed down from the north creating periods of heavy snow for the highway. The heaviest snowfall is expected after midnight tonight and into Thursday morning. Between 15 to 25 centimetres of snow is expected by the time the snow tapers off to a few flurries Thursday morning. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
