Storm Surge Warning in effect for:
  • Coastline from Capucins to Mont-Saint-Pierre

The combination of - strong northeasterly winds - a major surge - and a period of medium tidal range could produce minor breaking sea conditions along the coast on Saturday evening. Additional information: A major low pressure system will intensify over the Maritimes today. Flooding is possible along the coastline. Coastal erosion is possible in vulnerable areas.

  • Sainte-Anne-des-Monts area

Rain and snow on tap for the weekend. What: - Rainfall amounts of 40 to 60 millimetres near the shoreline of the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula. - Snowfall amounts near 10 centimetres over higher terrain. - Strong northeasterly winds. When: until Sunday evening. The strongest winds are expected late in the day on Saturday. Additional information: precipitation type will vary from rain to snow depending on elevation and proximity to the shoreline. Higher terrain will mostly receive snow, while coastal regions will mainly see rain. However, even the shoreline could see periods of snow, depending on local temperature variations. Snowfall amounts may also vary greatly. Adjust your driving to changing road conditions. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
