Winter Storm Warning in effect for:

Heavy snow and freezing rain What: Total snowfall accumulations of 20 to 30 centimetres. Several hours of freezing rain possibly producing up to 5 millimetres of ice accretion. When: Until tomorrow, near midday. Where: Abitibi. Additional information: The Rouyn-Noranda and Val-d'Or areas will be more affected by the freezing rain than communities further north. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Winter storm warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
