Winter Storm Warning in effect for:

Winter storm continues through tonight. What: Snow, at times heavy. Total snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 cm. Snowfall amounts may exceed 30 cm for the higher terrain west of Thunder Bay. Peak snowfall rates of 3 to 5 cm per hour. Reduced visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow. When: Into Thursday morning. Additional information: The heaviest snowfall is expected late this afternoon through this evening. Easterly winds gusting 50 to 70 km/h will result in blowing snow, particularly for exposed areas downwind of Lake Superior. Winds are expected to ease tonight. Snow will taper to flurries early Thursday morning. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
