Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring. Maximum gusts: 80 km/h, except 110 in areas prone to enhanced easterlies. Location: western Newfoundland. Time span: Saturday afternoon until early Sunday morning. Remarks: Local enhancement in easterly flow typically occurs in the vicinity of Cape St. George, Port au Port Bay, the outer Bay of Islands, Trout River Bay, Bonne Bay, Western Brook Pond, St. Pauls Bay, and St. John Bay. The strongest wind gusts will spread from southernmost areas Saturday afternoon to northernmost areas Saturday evening. Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
