Storm Surge Warning in effect for:
  • Coastline from Gascons to Sainte-Thérèse-de-Gaspé

Higher than normal water levels with large waves are expected near the coast on Saturday evening. The combination of - strong to high northeast winds - a major surge - and a period of medium tidal range could produce breaking sea conditions along the coast on Saturday evening in some areas of the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula. Additional information: A major low pressure system will intensify over the Maritimes on Saturday. Buildings located in areas prone to storm surges could be flooded. Flooding is possible along the coastline. Coastal erosion is possible in vulnerable areas.
