Wind Warning in effect for:

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring. Maximum wind gusts: 90 km/h Locations: Magdalen Islands Time span: Saturday near noon until Saturday evening. Remarks: Easterly winds will increase on Saturday morning and peak in strength during the afternoon. Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. Special Weather Statement in effect for:
  • Îles-de-la-Madeleine

Higher than normal water levels are expected. Locations: north and east facing coastlines along the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Time frame: near high tide Saturday afternoon or evening. Remarks: strong east to northeast winds and low atmospheric pressure will cause higher than normal water levels and rough and pounding surf to coincide with Saturday's high tide. Minor coastal erosion is possible. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
