Winter Storm Watch in effect for:
  • Inverness County - Mabou and north

Snow, blowing snow, and strong winds are expected. Locations: western Cape Breton. Time span: today through to Sunday afternoon. Expected snowfall: 15 to 30 cm. Remarks: Snow will change to rain this morning. There is a chance that freezing rain will develop over the highlands this morning. The rain will change back to snow late this afternoon as strong northwest winds develop and temperatures drop again. The snow will increase in intensity tonight as potential snowsqualls develop. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Winter storm watches are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
