Rain, at times heavy, is expected. Locations: parts of eastern New Brunswick. Total rainfall: 50 mm. Time span: intensifying this morning, continuing until early this evening. Remarks: Rain will begin to intensify this morning, before tapering off this evening. Rainfall rates of 10 to 15 mm per hour are possible in the heaviest rain this afternoon. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. Higher than normal water levels are expected. Locations: north and east facing coastlines of eastern New Brunswick. Timeframe: high tide Saturday afternoon or evening. Remarks: strong northeast winds and low atmospheric pressure will cause higher than normal water levels and rough and pounding surf to coincide with the high tide on Saturday. Minor coastal erosion is possible. The highest threat is for the New Brunswick Coast from Escuminac south to Shediac. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
