Freezing rain is expected or occurring. Locations: Northern mainland Nova Scotia. Total freezing rain amounts: possibly up to 5 mm. Freezing rain duration: around 4 hours. Remarks: A warm front sweeping across the region is bringing a period of freezing rain this morning. Freezing rain will then transition to rain late this morning. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
