Special Weather Statement in effect for:
  • Sussex - Kennebecasis Valley and Kings County

Heavy snow Sunday night in northern New Brunswick. Ice pellets mixing in at times with snow across southern and central areas. Locations: New Brunswick. Time Span: beginning Sunday afternoon, continuing through Monday afternoon. Similar events in the past have led to: Utility outages, minor tree damage, traffic delays, and hazardous driving conditions. Remarks: Precipitation will begin as snow Sunday afternoon over southwestern parts of New Brunswick and then spread across the province. The snow will transition to ice pellets and possibly freezing rain Sunday evening over southern areas of the province. Some areas of central and northern New Brunswick could see snowfall totals in excess of 35 cm with this storm, while lesser amounts of 10 to 15 cm for southern areas with mixed precipitation types. This storm is looking similar to the last storm the province experienced and warnings will likely be required as this event draws nearer. Driving conditions Sunday night and Monday morning will be impacted. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
