SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
- Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago
Moderate winds resulting in continuing impacts from the ice storm. What: Isolated wind gusts near 50 km/h in thunderstorms tonight. Northwest winds gusting to 40 km/h Monday morning and afternoon. Additional damage to trees and utilities possible. When: Thunderstorms late this evening into the overnight hours. Moderate northwest winds beginning late Monday morning into the afternoon. Additional information: The ice storm left anywhere from 10 to 25 mm of ice on surfaces. Although temperatures have risen slightly above freezing, strong winds gusting to 40 or 50 km/h may result in further impacts. A line of thunderstorms is tracking east over southern Ontario. This line of thunderstorms may bring wind gusts near 50 km/h. Monday morning moderate northwest winds gusting near 40 km/h associated with a cold front are expected to develop and continue into the afternoon.
