A period of very cold wind chills is expected. Temperatures have dropped quicker than anticipated this evening. The colder temperatures in combination with the winds is leading to wind chill values near minus 30. The wind chill values will moderate Sunday morning. Extreme cold puts everyone at risk. Dress warmly. Dress in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant. Synthetic and wool fabrics provide good insulation. Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
