Rainfall Warning in effect for:
  • Pickering - Oshawa - Southern Durham Region

Rain, heavy at times is expected. The ground, already near saturation, has little ability to absorb further rainfall. What: Rain, at times heavy. Total rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm. Locally higher amounts are possible if thunderstorms repeatedly impact the same area. When: This afternoon through Thursday morning. Additional information: Rain advances northeastward this afternoon into this evening. With thunderstorms expected, rainfall amounts may exceed 50 mm over some areas. Rain will end from west to east Thursday morning. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
