SNOWFALL WARNING
Heavy snowfall is expected in the Foothills and Rockies tonight and Wednesday night. Precipitation will begin as a rain/snow mix this afternoon before changing to heavy snow this evening. General amounts of 5 to 10 cm are expected, but in a few localities upwards of 15 cm is possible. Snowfall amounts will be highly variable throughout the region. There will be a break in snowfall through the day on Wednesday, but heavy snow is expected again beginning Wednesday evening. Another 5 to 15 cm is expected by Thursday morning. In total, this area could see between 15 and 30 cm of snow by Thursday morning. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow. Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
