RAINFALL WARNING

Rain, heavy at times is expected. The ground, already near saturation, has little ability to absorb further rainfall. What: Rain, at times heavy. Total rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm. Locally higher amounts are possible if thunderstorms repeatedly impact the same area. When: Wednesday morning through early Thursday morning. Additional information: Rain begins Wednesday morning over extreme southwestern Ontario before reaching the Golden Horseshoe Wednesday afternoon. With thunderstorms expected, rainfall amounts may exceed 50 mm over some areas, particularly over southwestern Ontario. Rain will end from west to east overnight into early Thursday morning. FREEZING RAIN WARNING

Freezing rain expected Wednesday. What: Freezing rain with ice accretion of 2 to 4 mm on some surfaces. When: Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening. Additional information: This freezing rain event will not be nearly as significant as the ice storm from this past weekend. Freezing rain begins east of Lake Huron Wednesday morning before reaching central Ontario later Wednesday afternoon. Precipitation may begin as snow and ice pellets for some areas. Easterly winds gusting 50 to 60 km/h may exacerbate any tree damage. As temperatures rise above the freezing mark, freezing rain will transition to rain Wednesday afternoon. For locations over higher terrain, freezing rain may linger into early Wednesday evening. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
