Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, large hail and torrential rain. Hazards: Winds gusts of 90 to 110 km/h. Local rainfall amounts exceeding 50 mm. Quarter to ping pong ball sized hail. When: This afternoon through the evening. Additional information: Thunderstorms over Lake Huron will continue to move southeastwards and affect the area this afternoon and evening. Rainfall amounts may exceed 50 mm for locations that receive multiple thunderstorms. Local utility outages are possible. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible. When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Don't drive through flooded roadways. Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches. Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility.
