At 3:00 a.m. NDT today quasi-stationary ridge located over northern
Labrador Coast.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:52 AM NDT 1 May 2024 A low pressure system over the Southwestern Grand Banks will movesoutheast of the Grand Banks tonight then stall. A trough extending
from the low will retrograde southwestward across northeastern waters
on Thursday. The trough combined with a strong ridge of high pressure
north of the district will spread strong to gale force
northeasterlies across northern and western waters overnight into
Thursday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle and Gulf waters.
