At 3:00 a.m. NDT today quasi-stationary trough from low located
over southwestern Newfoundland.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:54 AM NDT 30 April 2024 A low pressure system over the Southwestern Grand Banks will remainnearly stationary today and tonight as it gradually weakens. Strong
to gale force easterly winds are expected to the north and east of
the low today.
A trough of low pressure associated with the low will remain over
Southwestern Newfoundland today as it slowly weakens. Gale force
northerly winds over southern Gulf waters will diminish to strong
this morning as the trough weakens.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Gulf - Port au Port, Northern Grand Banks, and Southeastern Grand
Banks.
