By 8:00 p.m. NDT Thursday trough located from the low to
Newfoundland.
At 8:00 p.m. NDT tonight quasi-stationary ridge located over
northern Labrador Coast.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 7:49 PM NDT 1 May 2024 A low pressure system southeast of the Grand Banks will remain nearlystationary throughout the forecast period. A trough extending from
the low will retrograde southwestward across northeastern waters
tonight and Thursday. The trough combined with a strong ridge of high
pressure north of the district will spread strong to gale force
northeasterlies across northern and western waters overnight into
Thursday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle and Gulf waters.
