At 3:30 p.m. NDT today trough from low located on a line
northwest-southeast over Newfoundland.
By 3:00 a.m. NDT Friday trough located on a line east-west over
the southern Grand Banks.
At 3:30 p.m. NDT today quasi-stationary ridge located over northern
Labrador Coast.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 3:25 PM NDT 2 May 2024 A low pressure system southeast of the Grand Banks will remain nearlystationary throughout the forecast period. A trough extending from
the low currently over Newfoundland will continue to retrograde
southwestward tonight. The trough combined with a strong ridge of
high pressure north of the district will cause strong to gale force
northeasterlies across northern and western waters tonight and
Friday.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Strait of Belle Isle and Gulf waters.
