Wind east 15 knots increasing to east 20 to 25 late this afternoon with gusts to 35 near thunderstorms. Wind diminishing to southeast 15 late this evening then increasing to southwest 20 late overnight. Wind southwest 20 Wednesday.

Rain beginning early this afternoon changing to rain at times heavy late this afternoon with risk of thunderstorms then to light rain late this evening and ending early Wednesday morning. Visibility 1 mile or less in rain.

Lake Winnipegosis

Issued 11:01 AM CDT 19 September 2017 Conditions are favourable for the development of squalls with wind gusts up to 35 knots.

A low pressure system now in Saskatchewan will slowly track through
southern Manitoba later today. This weather system will spread rain
and severe thunderstorms through Lake Manitoba and lake Winnipegosis late this afternoon and early this evening.

These severe thunderstorms may give wind gusts of 40 knots and poor visibility in heavy showers.

These severe thunderstorms may continue through Lake Winnipeg tonight.

Mariners are advised to prepare for potential squalls. Vulnerable vessels are most at risk and should seek safe harbour if underway. Consider delaying or postponing travel in areas under the Squall Watch.
