Wind increasing to southeast 25 to 35 Saturday afternoon and to southeast 40 to 50 Saturday evening.

Issued 4:00 PM PST 5 February 2016 Tonight and Saturday At 4:00 p.m. PST today cold front located on a line north-south
over central Vancouver Island.
By 8:00 p.m. PST tonight departing cold front located over the
Lower Mainland.

At 4:00 p.m. PST today disturbance located over western Bowie.
By 4:00 a.m. PST Saturday departing disturbance located over
Hecate Strait.

At 10:30 a.m. PST Saturday frontal system located west of Bowie.
By 9:30 p.m. PST Saturday frontal system located on a line
northwest-southeast over western Bowie.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 3:59 PM PST 5 February 2016 A cold front draped across Vancouver Island late this afternoon
Will move into the BC Interior by midnight. Gale force
southeasterlies will continue ahead of the front early this evening
over southern waters. The winds will shift to strong westerlies
behind the front except for brief westerly gales across Juan de Fuca
this evening.

A disturbance over Bowie will move eastward and reach Hecate Strait
by early Saturday morning. Strong to gale force westerlies will
develop over parts of the central and northern waters along the track
of the disturbance.

An approaching frontal system will spread gale to storm force
southeasterly winds over central and northern waters late in the day
Saturday.
