Freezing rain warning in effect for:
Periods of freezing rain and freezing drizzle are expected to continue tonight for the Ottawa Valley, as temperatures continue to hover near or just below the zero degree mark in most areas. The freezing rain will gradually change over to plain rain overnight as temperatures slowly inch to just above the freezing mark.
However it is possible that temperatures in locales near the Ottawa River may remain stuck at near zero for much of the night. If this happens, periods of freezing rain may also be possible overnight.
It appears that amounts will not be overly significant as the freezing rain will be rather light in nature. However, untreated surfaces may still become slippery.
Motorists and pedestrians should exercise caution.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
Freezing Rain Warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. To report severe weather, send an email to email@example.com or tweet reports to #ONStorm.
