Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for:

  • Saint-Jérôme area

At 4:05 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, quarter to toonie size hail and heavy rain.

A series of thunderstorms between Brownsburg and Nicolet are tracking eastward at 20 km/h.

Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.

Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for:

  • Lachute area
  • Saint-Eustache area
  • Saint-Jérôme area

Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

A vigorous cold front will sweep across Southwestern and Central Quebec early this evening. The hot and humid air mass ahead of this front will give conditions favourable to the development of thunderstorms at times severe as the front passes.

Very strong wind gusts can damage buildings, down trees and blow large vehicles off the road. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches.
