Winter storm watch in effect for:

  • Southend - Brabant Lake - Kinoosao

Heavy snow, freezing rain, ice pellets and strong winds expected beginning Tuesday afternoon.

A developing system is expected to spread a band of heavy snow across northern Saskatchewan with freezing rain or ice pellets to its south.

The exact location of these bands of precipitation are uncertain at this time but current guidance suggests the heaviest snow will occur over regions closest to the Northwest Territories border, with 10 to 25 cm possible.

Additionally, strong winds with gusts up to 60 km/h are expected Tuesday into Wednesday.

Warnings may be issued closer to the event.

Avoid travel if possible. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Winter storm watches are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
