Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Mont-Tremblant - Sainte-Agathe area
  • Sainte-Adèle - Saint-Sauveur area

A first band of freezing rain will affect some areas of Extreme Southwestern Quebec this afternoon for a short period of time. A second period of freezing rain is expected beginning this evening in the southwest. It will be prolonged and will spread toward Central and Eastern Quebec overnight Sunday and Monday.
Amounts of freezing precipitation will vary between 5 and 15 millimetres north of the St Lawrence River while they will range from 2 to 4 millimetres over areas south of the river.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
