Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Lièvre River area
  • Low - Wakefield area
  • Maniwaki - Gracefield area
  • Papineau-Labelle Reserve area
  • Papineauville - Chénéville area

Freezing rain should begin this evening over southwestern Quebec and continue Tuesday. Significant accumulation of between 10 and 15 millimetres of freezing precipitation is possible especially over the Saint-Lawrence and Ottawa River valleys.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
