Warnings

Winter storm warning in effect for:

  • Prescott and Russell

Heavy snow and freezing rain tonight through Monday morning.

Hazards:
Freezing rain
Snow accumulations up to 15 cm

When:
Tonight through Monday morning.

Discussion:
A low pressure system will track east across the Great Lakes tonight and Monday. Precipitation will begin as snow this evening then it is expected to change over to freezing rain early Monday morning and to rain by Monday afternoon.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.

Winter storm warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
