Special weather statement in effect for:

  • Parson's Pond - Hawke's Bay

A low pressure system will approach from the west today and cross northern Newfoundland tonight.

Snow will develop this morning and change to flurries this evening. The flurries will become more persistent overnight with a risk of snow squalls. Widespread snowfall amounts of 10 cm can be expected today. Snowfall amounts will be more variable tonight in the flurries with 2 to 4 cm expected for most and locally up to 10 cm possible in heavier flurries or over some higher elevations.

Additionally, strong southerly winds today will shift to strong westerlies tonight giving reduced visibilities in blowing snow over exposed areas.
