Heat Warning in effect for:

  • Miramichi and area

Humidex values reaching 36 will continue.

A hot and humid air mass will continue to affect northeastern New Brunswick tonight and Wednesday.

Humidex values are expected to reach 36 again on Wednesday. In addition, overnight low temperatures tonight are expected to be near 20 degrees.

Cooler conditions are expected Wednesday night and into Thursday.

The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.

Ask a health professional how medications or health conditions can affect your risk in the heat.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
