What: Snowfall with accumulations of 10 cm expected tonight, followed by an additional 20 cm on Monday. Where: North Coast – Inland sections including Stewart. When: Tonight through Monday night. Additional information: A series of Pacific frontal systems will impact the BC North Coast through the first half of this week. This will result in a prolonged period of snowfall over North Coast inland northern sections, including Stewart. A frontal band has passed through today. Wet snow mixed with rain has changed back to snow for tonight. 5 cm of snow have fallen today. Further accumulations of 10 cm of snow is expected through the overnight period. A second, more significant and moisture laden Pacific front, is forecast to affect the area on Monday. Snow will become heavy again Monday morning and persist through the evening, bringing an additional 20 cm of snowfall. Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Visibility will likely be reduced at times. Local utility outages are possible. Property or tree damage is possible.
