Heavy rain and strong winds expected. Where: North Coast - Coastal Sections. When: Today through Wednesday morning. Strongest winds today. What: Total rainfall amounts near 150 mm. Southeast winds 80 km/h gusting to 100 over exposed coastal sections. Hazard: - Localised flooding and water pooling are possible with heavy rain on snow, as well as from melting snow. - High winds may cause fallen tree branches and power outages. Remarks: A series of frontal systems will bring rain heavy at times to North Coast - Coastal Sections through Tuesday. A system today will bring heavy rain and strong southeast winds. Another system will arrive on Tuesday bringing more rain through Wednesday. Total rainfall amounts near 150 mm can be expected with higher amounts inland and over higher terrain. The long period of rain may lead to flooding in low-lying areas, slushy conditions over higher terrain and inland. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break, and result in power outages. The heavy rain and high winds may cause travel delays.
