By 3:00 a.m. ADT Thursday low 1000 mb located northeast of
Newfoundland.
At 3:00 a.m. ADT today ridge located from Anticosti Island to
Georges Bank.
By 3:00 a.m. ADT Thursday ridge located from Anticosti Island to
East Scotian Slope.
At 8:00 p.m. ADT Thursday approaching low 991 mb located south of
Laurentian Fan.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 2:23 AM ADT 22 April 2026 A low pressure system southeast of Laurentian Fan will move northwardto lie north of Newfoundland tonight then stall and weaken on
Thursday. Strong to gale force northerlies or northwesterlies over
eastern waters will gradually diminish as the low moves northward and
weakens.
Late on Thursday, another low will intensify and approach
southeastern waters. Strong to possibly gale force northeasterlies
are likely over East Scotian Slope and Laurentian Fan Thursday
evening.
Marine interests are advised that a gale warning is in effect for
Laurentian Fan - southeastern half.
