Issued 8:00 PM AST 22 November 2017 Tonight and Thursday At 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 997 mb located southwest of Georges
Bank.
By 3:00 a.m. AST Thursday intensifying low 987 mb located south
of Halifax.

At 10:00 a.m. AST Thursday low 976 mb located over Cabot Strait.
By 8:00 p.m. AST Thursday departing low 983 mb located northeast
of Newfoundland.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 8:00 PM AST 22 November 2017 A low pressure system southwest of Georges Bank will track rapidly
northeastward tonight. The low will intensify as it tracks south of
Halifax overnight and across Cape Breton into Cabot Strait Thursday
morning. Gale to storm force south to southeasterlies will develop
ahead of this low then quickly shift to gale to storm gale force
northwesterlies behind it. These northwesterlies will diminish over
all but northeasternmost waters by late in the day Thursday.

Marine interests are advised that storm warnings are in effect for
Georges Bank, West Scotian Slope, eastern shore, Sable, East Scotian
Slope, Fourchu, Banquereau - northwestern half, Cabot Strait and
Gulf-Magdalen - eastern half. Gale warnings are in effect for all
remaining waters.

Marine interests in the northern part of Cabot Strait are also
advised to prepare for higher than normal water levels on Thursday
during high tide along the Southwest Coast of Newfoundland from a
combination of storm surge and high waves and pounding surf.These
conditions have the potential to cause minor coastal flooding or
infrastructure damage. Please monitor future forecasts for updated
